Pura Ortiz
Pura Ortiz Borda received a BA degree in Sociology at the Catholic University of Chile and did postgraduate studies in Urban Planning at the Interdisciplinary Center of Urban Development, CIDU, Catholic University of Chile. She also, later on in life, received a Master degree in Latin American Literature in the same University.
She began her professional career in CELADE: Latin American Demographic Center, of the United Nations, and worked in various projects related with demographic and socioeconomic factors in some countries of Latin America. She has a large experience in the Public and Private sector, integrating interdisciplinary teams dealing with Health and Pension issues. She was Director of the Pension Division at the Superintendence of Public Pensions Funds, where she was part of a team of experts who worked in the design and management of the New Pension System introduced in Chile. She also participated in the implementation of various Health Insurance programs.
She attended the “Mastering the Art of Coaching” program at Newfield Corporation and later formed ETHOS a company whose objective was to develop coaching programs for different companies.
Currently she is shareholder of EYC Ltda, a family investment company, and also a member of the Advisory Board and shareholder of COQUINARIA, a successful chain of Gourmet markets in Chile.
