Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Friends has been working with the Catholic University to develop programs to address the country’s urgent need to increase its innovation potential. Friends has worked on various programs designed to enhance cooperation between the University and the Chilean business community in the area of innovation, and has provided advice and assistance to the University’s two principal business incubators.

In connection with its annual Board meetings in Santiago, Friends has helped to develop and participate in the Entrepreneurship Afternoon, where students from the College and from the Schools of Engineering, Economics, Management, Design, and Agriculture participate in a juried competition to present innovative ideas for new products and services.

Also, the Directors along with guest experts discuss a variety of current topics including the importance of financial innovation; future challenges in corporate finance; Chile’s road to the first world; the launch of the center for technology; innovation and entrepreneurship; and the Triple Helix of Innovation.
